I think this was originally meant to be a swimming pool however with no help from anyone it seems to have been colonised by a large number of fish. Before every meal someone goes and catches a few to cook which is great because otherwise it would just be rice and vegetables.
The cats at the top hang around for any scraps that are going. Occassionally they look wistfully into the pond under the pretence that they are also capable of catching their own food. So far however I'm yet to see one even put a paw in the water. There was also a chicken (nicknamed Big Tim for some reason) around earlier asking for bits of fish which struck me as slightly odd. Carnivorous chickens, 5th sign of the apocalypse maybe?
